Van Buren Elementary School’s transitional kindergarten classes are participating in a unique and interactive social studies program called BLOCKS. The students learn about the essential components that define a community as well as the essential parts people play to make it a successful neighborhood. The children work collaboratively to build (using blueprints, just like an architect!) their very own community using blocks. They are even assigned specific roles and jobs. What an amazing way for the TK students to experience hands-on learning in social studies!
