This school year marks the 6th year for Bryant Ranch School’s Garden Club program. After a hiatus, the Little Diggers are ready to dig in with their hands and eager hearts.
At the school’s first Garden Club meeting, 1st through 5th graders were able to add in soil and fertilizer to get their garden ready for planting. They also wrote what they were thankful for on their “Thankful Pumpkin,” which is now proudly displayed in the school’s office.
The students were also taught how to germinate seeds in paper towels and took them home to grow (hopefully) into seedlings! The students are super excited to start planting snap peas and green beans this season.
The Bryant Ranch Little Diggers Garden Club is an immersive, all-inclusive gardening program that teaches young children how to take care of the environment and nature. The curriculum includes soil health, seed growth, compost, harvesting, healthy eating, and biodiversity.
