On November 20, the El Dorado Golden Hawk Marching Band competed at the SCSBOA 6A Championships at Citrus College. They performed to a capacity crowd and competed against some of the finest marching bands in Southern California. They had a great performance and earned the 6A Bronze Medal by placing 3rd overall out of 12 schools.
“This is a huge accomplishment for our program,” says Band Director Eric Samson. “We could have easily taken the easy route and treated this year as a rebuilding year after the pandemic. However we took the show that we would have performed in 2020, made some revisions to accommodate this year’s group, and went for it as if the pandemic didn’t exist. The students, the marching band staff, and boosters worked tirelessly to make this fall a success and aside from the accolades, we created memories that will last a lifetime.”
The Golden Hawks look forward to the next part of their year but are already looking forward to next year’s fall marching band season!
