Sophomore honors students recently finished a poetry unit where their final assessment was to compose an original poem using one of the forms or structures that was studied from other poets. Students had the choice to create a blackout poem, concrete poem, sonnet, dramatic monologue, or a free verse poem. They performed them to their classmates and debriefed about the process afterward. Below are two examples. Way to go, EHS!
