Valencia High School students honored by Girl Scouts of Orange County

On May 31, at the Girl Scouts of Orange County, Yorba Linda’s Highest Awards Ceremony, Valencia High School student Gabrielle Decuir (pictured above) was awarded the Gold Award for her Hoops and Coders community service project. The Girl Scout Gold Award represents the highest achievement in Girl Scouting and it is estimated that only 6% of Girls Scouts earn the award by completing a sustainable community project.

The evening included inspiring professional women guest speakers such as California Surgeon General Dr. Diana Ramos, Yorba Linda Mayor Pro Tem Tara Campbell, and Dr. Lisa Chong.

Two other Valencia students earned their Gold Award pins at the ceremony—Katelyn Park (pictured below far right) for her project All About Energy and Annika Christy (pictured below middle) for her project Mediums of Hope

VHS and PYLUSD are very proud of these outstanding students for their continued dedication to the betterment of the community!
