On Friday, Feb. 5, and Saturday, Feb. 6, Linda Vista Elementary School will be performing its second musical, “Lion King, Jr.,” at the district’s Performing Arts Center (PAC). The school is very privileged to have an unbelievable group of 100 students who have worked hard over the past three months to create an entertaining production for all ages. All of the students in “Lion King, Jr.” showed their hard work, perseverance and willingness to share their talent with the Linda Vista community.
Principal Paula Sitar and her staff would like to thank the entire Linda Vista PTA board, led by Beverly Siniscalchi, for its dedication and commitment to produce another musical. Thank you to the play production team for their leadership in various areas to ensure a smooth production from start to finish: Sandra Ambuehl, Chris Baranick, Stacey Brown, Theresa Coughlin, Karen Delaney, Gary Farrell, Shonda Farnstrom, Adriana Gjersvold, Ladonna Gundling, Marix Martin, Lisa Pulido, Elana Rosenthal, Nicole Seitz, Kelly Simonian and Beverly Siniscalchi. Thanks to the guidance of the Huston School of Music: Gary Krinke, Kris Huston and Sarah Garcia. Their direction was incredible throughout the entire production; everything was well-organized and on-target due to their professionalism.
The school would also like to thank the Linda Vista PTA drama co-chairs Kelly Farrell and Amy Greer for their tireless effort making the production terrific. They have put in countless hours to ensure that every aspect was just right.
Finally, the school thanks the entire group of parent volunteers who logged numerous hours watching students during practices, offering backstage help, concessions sales, fundraising, programs and T-shirt design. Community involvement is what makes a good school great! It is that support that enables Linda Vista to provide such a positive educational and extra-curricular experience that allows each student to reach his or her full potential.
