Kaiden Surti, 8th grader at Kraemer Middle School, and a five year participant in the Reflections Music Composition Art Category, recently composed the piece “We Beat Together” for Reflections and received an Award of Merit from the Fourth District PTA. The Fourth District PTA consists of Orange County and bordering parts of Los Angeles County.

Kaiden also submitted the original composition to the NPR’s Young Creators Project 2024. Out of 200 submissions, Kaiden was chosen as one of the five artists to be spotlighted across all of the KCRW channels (on air, web, socials, newsletters). An interview with Kaiden and his music piece will air on KCRW (89.9) on March 29 between 10:25-11:35 a.m. Kaiden is also invited to perform at Live at School Night Avalon and Hollywood & Bardot in Los Angeles on April 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Kraemer Middle School is proud of Kaiden and the Reflections Art Program from the Kraemer PTA to the PYLUC Council PTA. Through Kaiden’s five years of participation in the Reflections Art Program, we have witnessed  Kaiden’s musical progression, both as a musician and music composer.

In 2023-2024, Kaiden was a California Outstanding Award of Interpretation and National Award of Excellence winner in Middle School Music Composition.

“We believe he is shining example of diligence, discipline and creativity,” Debi Grant, PYLUC Reflections Chair. “We hope the young music composers in our district, find inspiration in Kaiden and a venue and creative outlet in the Reflections Art Program.”
