Valencia High School Celebrates its Class of 2024

Valencia High School Class of 2024

On Thursday, June 13, Valencia High School (VHS) celebrated its commencement ceremony, honoring the Class of 2024. The event took place at Bradford Stadium, where 571 seniors were awarded their high school diplomas.

The graduating class featured a diverse and accomplished group of students, including 57 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma candidates, 159 recipients of the Val Tech diploma, and, for the first time, 3 Cambridge diploma recipients.

The ceremony welcomed several distinguished guests, such as Board of Education Clerk Shawn Youngblood, Trustee Marilyn Anderson, and Carrie Buck. Representatives from the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District included Deputy Superintendent Dr. Isaac Gates, Assistant Superintendents Dr. Olivia Yaung and Renee Gray, and Director Alyssa Griffiths.

The commencement speeches were delivered by students Ariana Martinez, Duyluan (Dylan) Hoang, and Nikhil Srivastava. Their speeches reflected on cherished memories and expressed heartfelt gratitude towards VHS, their fellow graduates, and supportive loved ones.

After Clerk Youngblood formally accepted the Class of 2024, acknowledging they had met all requirements for graduation, Principal Herzfeld extended his congratulations. He then instructed the graduates to move their tassels from right to left. The stadium erupted in cheers, and the newly graduated Tigers tossed their caps into the air, marking the joyous conclusion of their high school journey. Congratulations, Tigers!
