El Camino Real High School Celebrates its Class of 2025

On Tuesday, June 10, El Camino Real High School (ECRHS) held its 2025 commencement ceremony at Bradford Stadium, located at Valencia High School. The event marked the culmination of the 2024–2025 school year, celebrating the achievements of 78 graduating students as they received their high school diplomas.

The ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Board of Education Vice President Carrie Buck, Trustee Tricia Quintero, Executive Director of Human Resources Nancy Blades, Director of Student Services Dr. Baldwin Pedraza, Assistant Director of Student Services Tonya Gordillo, Assistant Director of State and Federal Programs Jose Cabrera, and Principal Gina Aguilar.

A highlight of the celebration included heartfelt speeches from students Christopher Barajas, Rick Bailon, and Andrea Meriggio. Each shared messages centered around gratitude and appreciation for the unique experience El Camino Real offers as a continuation high school. They commended the unwavering support of the Raptors’ faculty and staff, whose dedication played a pivotal role in helping students reach this milestone. Parent speaker Erika Hernande also addressed the audience, further affirming the school’s deep commitment to its students.

Principal Gina Aguilar delivered an inspiring message to the graduating class, emphasizing perseverance and pride. She shared, “Here you are, graduating from high school, not because everything was perfect, but because you made the decision to keep going. That’s the difference between success and failure. Not luck, not perfection, but determination. Legendary Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz has said, “life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” When life brings disappointment and adversity your response is the greatest indicator of your strength and future success. What I have seen this year is story after story of perseverance and grit and I admire each and every one of you for that.”

The Class of 2025 showcased a variety of remarkable accomplishments. Among the graduates was one student who completed their studies as a junior, 64 early graduates, and six students who successfully completed Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.

The 2025 commencement ceremony was a proud moment that underscored the resilience and determination of El Camino Real High School’s students, along with the steadfast support of its faculty, staff, and community. The achievements of this graduating class are a testament to the school’s mission of fostering a nurturing and empowering educational environment.
