El Camino Real High School student Ariana Mejia was sworn in as the new Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Student Board Member on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Her term will last throughout the first semester of the school year.
As the Student Board Member, Ariana will prepare a monthly report to present at each Board Meeting. Her reports will highlight recent activities and events occurring on the district’s high school and alternative school campuses. She will also cast preferential votes on important matters related to the school district.
Ariana grew up in our district, attending Topaz Elementary, Tuffree Middle School, El Dorado High School, and now El Camino Real High School. She is on track to graduate early this academic year and dedicates much of her time to her creative passions, including choreographing dances for quinceañeras and practicing nail design. Ariana is also an engaged member of the leadership class, where she actively contributes to the planning and execution of school events.
Following graduation, Ariana hopes to attend Fullerton College to pursue a career in nursing.Arian has a very strong support system behind her, including her mom, Ana, and younger sister, a student at Topaz Elementary.
The district is incredibly pleased that Ariana has agreed to serve as the Student Board Member during her final year in PYLUSD.
