On Thursday, August 7, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) held its 2025–2026 Management Symposium at the district’s Performing Arts Center (PAC) and El Dorado High School. Continuing the districtwide theme of Every Student, Every Day, the event served as a platform to celebrate excellence in service, foster professional growth, and strengthen leadership collaboration.
The program began with a welcome from Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, Dr. Olivia Yaing, followed by an address from Board of Education President Marilyn Anderson and a message from Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Allan Mucerino. The agenda also included the recognition of service award recipients, the introduction of new employees, service activities with the REACH Foundation, and breakout learning sessions designed to enhance professional practice. To conclude, attendees participated in a PLUM raffle, which further contributed to the event’s spirit of collegiality and community.
A highlight of the symposium was the keynote address delivered by Dr. Candy Singh, who shared an impactful message about the five fundamental beliefs of a Trust & Inspire leader. Her presentation emphasized the importance of fostering trust, inspiring others, and modeling leadership principles that empower educators to positively influence students and colleagues alike.
The event also showcased the remarkable talents of PYLUSD students through performances by the El Dorado High School Jazz Band, Yorba Linda High School vocalist Emily Kashou, and the Valencia High School Dance Team. These performances underscored the district’s dedication to celebrating student achievement and the integral role of the arts in education.
