On Monday, August 25, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) hosted its 2nd Annual International Student Orientation Luncheon, welcoming 30 students from across the globe to the district community. This year’s cohort includes students representing Brazil (1), China (6), Germany (7), India (1), Italy (7), Mexico (1), Serbia (1), Taiwan (4), and Vietnam (2).
The luncheon served as an opportunity for students to begin their transition into American high school life. Attendees were introduced to Associated Student Body (ASB) representatives from their respective high schools, allowing them to establish early connections with peers and learn more about school culture, activities, and leadership opportunities.
The event provided an engaging and supportive environment where international students were able to build relationships and gain insight into their new academic setting. The district looks forward to the unique perspectives and contributions these students will bring as they join the PYLUSD family.
