Golden Elementary Kicks Off Red Ribbon Week with Sheriff’s Department Safety Presentation

On Monday, October 27, Golden Elementary School officially launched its annual Red Ribbon Week celebration with an engaging and educational presentation for students in kindergarten through third grade. Representatives from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Beckley and Deputy Sanders, visited campus to teach students about safety awareness and the importance of making responsible choices.

During the presentation, the deputies provided age-appropriate guidance on when and how to call 911 in an emergency, emphasizing the role of law enforcement in keeping communities safe. Students were particularly excited to meet the department’s K-9 partner, who demonstrated the valuable work that service dogs perform in assisting officers.

The visit not only supported Golden Elementary’s commitment to promoting safe and healthy lifestyles but also helped students build a sense of trust and connection with local law enforcement. Events like these serve as meaningful opportunities for young learners to understand the importance of safety, respect, and community responsibility—key themes aligned with the mission of Red Ribbon Week.
