Under the leadership of the student council and teacher Pat Shea, the students from Fairmont Elementary School collected and donated over 1,000 packaged and canned food items for the PYLUSD McKinney-Vento food pantry. The pantry supplies food to some of the less fortunate students of our district. The students helped pack up the food, and filled over 40 boxes!
Jon Matson, the McKinney-Vento liaison for PYLUSD, commented, “We really depend on the generous donations from many schools around the district. Fairmont has been particularly faithful in their donations, providing our less fortunate students with food from their food drives for over five years. Mrs. Shea and her team are amazing! Thank you so much Fairmont Elementary!”
The PYLUSD McKinney-Vento program accepts donations from a wide variety of individuals and organizations. If you would like to make a donation or have suggestions for future donations, contact Jon Matson by phone at 714-986-7280, or by email at jmatson@pylusd.org.
