On Sunday, April 17, Valencia High School junior Valerie Narumi received a special senior division award at the 2016 Orange County Science and Engineering Fair from the California Society of Professional Engineers, Southern Chapters Council for her science project, “Conversely Applying Railsback Tuning Curves to Improve Suspension and Cable-Stayed Bridges.” The award is given out to the student most likely to continue education in the sciences and engineering. Over 650 middle and high school students from across Orange County participated in the event at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.
