On Saturday, Oct. 22, the El Dorado High School boys water polo team had its annual “Game for the Cure” against Fullerton Union High School. This year, the team partnered with the Stripes of a Warrior foundation, a nonprofit that provides financial assistance to the families of individuals battling cancer. Specifically, when a cancer patient is out of work and undergoing the rigors of treatment while attempting to fight the disease, the stress of paying bills becomes a financial hardship as well as taking an emotional toll. Stripes of a Warrior provides stipends to pay crucial bills, from mortgages and electricity to food and gas. This year, the EDHS boys water polo team was able to raise $1,800 for the foundation. Next year, with increased publicity, their goal will be to double that amount!
