On Friday, Nov. 4, a blue “sea” of children and parents flooded the entire two-acre field at Golden Elementary School. Children and teachers ran to the beat of rocking music, while parents shouted words of encouragement and marked lap sheets. Golden’s PTA organized an amazing event that had 850 students running five, 10 or even 20 laps in 20 minutes! Every participant had a blast helping to raise funds for programs like Walk Through the American Revolution, Walk Through California, Walk Through Ancient Lands and Imagination Machine, among others. The dazzling school spirit shined behind all the smiling faces. Golden is a place where all students SHINE (Safe, Here and ready, Inclusive, Nurturing and Exceptional)!
