George Key School and the district’s new Venture Academy teamed up for a joint fundraiser with the Love Them All Foundation, an organization that supports sporting activities for children and adults with special needs. The students at both schools sold over $6,000 in tickets to a golf ball drop at Alta Vista Country Club. On Monday, Oct. 17, a helicopter carrying hundreds of numbered golf balls hovered over the driving range. It was quite a sight to see so many golf balls dropped onto the course! The winning ball, which dropped into the hole, belonged to a George Key student. He and his family were presented with a check for $1,000. In addition, just before Thanksgiving, George Key and Venture Academy students gathered in the front of the school for the presentation of a check for $3,000 from the Love Them All Foundation. The teachers are excited to use this money to create spectacular learning opportunities for all these students!
