Parkview School held their 2017 commencement ceremony on Tuesday, June 13, in the Valencia High School Auditorium. The school awarded 15 seniors their high school diploma, as well as promoted 21 eighth grade students.
Both the Board of Education Vice President and Trustee, Carol Downey and Eric Padget, as well as Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Greg Plutko, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, David Giordano, and Principal Kathie DiRocco were among the honored guests in attendance.
Parkview student, Lindsay Prescott, delivered the student address in front of an excited crowd of fellow graduates, loved ones, and staff members. In her speech, Lindsay discussed the uniqueness of Parkview and even called Dr. Greg Plutko a “super cool superintendent.”
Before receiving their diplomas, Parkview students were awarded various scholarships including the Presidential Award, the Edward Leion Scholarship, the P.L.U.M. Award, and the SchoolsFirst Scholarship.
Of the seniors, one student finished as a junior, three students finished at the semester (Jan. 2017), and all 15 graduates will be moving on to attend a two or four-year college or university post-graduation.
Congratulations to all!
