PYLUSD celebrates 2019 Employees of the Year with special ceremony

On Tuesday, March 5, 2019, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) recognized nine certificated, classified, and management Employees of the Year with a ceremony before the regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting. The 2019 Employees of the Year are Barbara Barboza, Xochitl Diaz, Frank Perez, Cyndi Green, Sandra Gutierrez, Raul Lopez, Dinah Felix, Elizabeth Nasouf, and Shea Runge.

Accompanied by their proud supervisors, supportive colleagues, and adoring loved ones, each Employee of the Year was introduced and shared about by Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Rick Lopez. All honorees also had the opportunity to shake hands with the Board of Education, the District’s Executive Leadership team, APLE and CSEA Presidents, and a representative from SchoolsFirst FCU. Generously, SchoolsFirst FCU awarded each of the Employees of the Year a check for $500 to show their gratitude for the PYLUSD employees’ tremendous contributions to the District, students, and community.

In addition, a video (directly below) was shared recapping February 8, 2019, the day the District announced its “You Are the Advantage” Employee of the Year Awards. The PYLUSD executive leadership team has a longstanding tradition of surprising recipients at their school sites or departments on “Prize Patrol.”
