Esperanza dance competes in USA Nationals, CADTD State

Esperanza High Dance Contest 3-26-19

Esperanza High School’s dance team shined over the past two weeks at USA Nationals and California Association of DanceDrill Team Directors (CADTD) State.

Last week at USA Nationals, the Aztecs fought hard against many talented teams. After placing top 5 in all their routines, the Aztecs took 3 routines to the National finals in the Kick, Small Lyrical and Medium Jazz divisions. The team took 3rd in both Small Lyrical and Medium and came out victorious winning the National title in Kick!

At CADTD State, the dance showed fire on the floor with their 6 routines. The day started with two soloists junior Mackenzie Lemmon and senior Hailey Huff winning 5th place out of 30 solos. After a long day of competition, the dance team was awarded 2nd place in Kick, Medium Lyrical, and Medium Contemporary. The Aztecs won 1st place in Small Lyrical, Small Contemporary, and Medium Jazz. The also received the highest scoring number in Lyrical and was named State Grand Chapmions!

Great job, EHS!
