What makes a good leader? The Sunshine Squad at Lakeview Elementary School is trying to find out! In recent weeks Lakeview’s Sunshine Squad has been learning so much about leadership from community leaders.
Principal Stephanie Given, Superintendent Dr. Michael Matthews, Mayor Pro-Tem Tara Campbell, Miss Teen Yorba Linda Ashley Lee, ASB leads from Esperanza High and Yorba Linda Middle, Mrs. Lukach and Mrs. Miller, all came to impart their wisdom about what makes a leader. Words like integrity, being servant leaders, listening, being humble, thinking of others before self, using time management skills, and more resonated throughout the group.
Sunshine Squad leaders, Shannon Vlastnik and Genna Olson, hope that this leadership clinic will inspire our lions to continue nurturing their own leadership characteristics as they move forward, maybe one day taking on important leading roles in our own community.
