Topaz sixth graders visits Cal State Fullerton

Last week, Topaz Elementary School sixth graders had the exciting opportunity to participate in the Kids to College program by partnering with California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). With funding support from Southern California Edison, CSUF is able to provide this innovative outreach program where students are given an early introduction to the college-going process, free of charge!

The program consists of a three-lesson curriculum, and culminates in a visit to CSUF. The lessons focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) careers, college life and how to choose a path that will give them the greatest range of options for education beyond high school.

The students and teachers had an amazing experience hearing all about the pathways to higher education, as well as touring the college campus. In addition, CSUF generously provided all of the students with CSUF T-shirts and a lunch while on campus.

A big thank you to CSUF and Southern California Edison!
