On September 17, students from Mr. Elmore’s AP United States History class at Esperanza High School (EHS) attended a symposium on the current trade relationship between China and the United States at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in Yorba Linda.
They students had the opportunity to hear a discussion between several prestigious speakers, including Hal Brands, Professor of Global Affairs at Johns Hopkins University, Frank Lavin, Lead Trade Negotiator with China and India in the Reagan and Bush administrations, and Noel Murray, Associate Professor at Chapman University.
The speakers discussed the pros and cons of the country’s current trade policy toward China and its potential impact on the future.
