On Tuesday, December 10, Valencia hosted Ruby Elementary School 4th-6th graders for an AVID Scholar Showcase. Ruby students were greeted with Tiger pride as they entered the school’s gymnasium and heard from Valencia’s AVID ambassador panelists. Panelists shared about their high school experience and how AVID has helped prepare them for their future college and career goals.
After the panel presentation, AVID leaders led a campus tour highlighting Valencia’s campus. The AVID leaders did a fantastic job leading the tours, connecting with the elementary students, and answering various questions from the inquisitive visitors.
One Ruby student excitedly shared, “I already know two classes I want to take here — Robotics and Chemistry!”
“Thanks to our AVID team for organizing this event and furthering the partnership between one of our neighbor feeder schools,” Assistant Principal Paige Stills mentioned.
