Band Director Brad Davis took Esperanza High School’s Jazz 1 and 2 bands to the Essentially Ellington Jazz Festival at the end of January. The competition took place in Las Vegas. Esperanza’s Jazz 1 band took the “Spirit of Ellington” Award for being the most “Outstanding” band at the Festival.
Congrats to Aztecs Leo Chang, Evan Sun, and Matthew Sosa for being named the best clarinetists. Also, congrats to Jack Durbin for being named best drummer of the festival. Way to go, Aztecs!
