Yorba Linda High School (YLHS) senior Lauren Farer was sworn in as the new Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Student Board Member on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. Her term will last throughout the first semester of the school year.
As the Student Board Member, Lauren will prepare a monthly report to present at each Board Meeting. Her reports will highlight recent activities and events occurring on the District’s high school campuses. She will also cast preferential votes on important matters related to PYLUSD.
Lauren grew up in the District, having attending Fairmont Elementary School before transitioning to Bernardo Yorba Middle School and now, YLHS. This school year, Lauren serves the Mustangs as ASB Ambassador. In this elected role, she has a long list of important responsibilities including maintaining a school-wide fundraising calendar, fostering positive relationships with the school community, serving as a liaison between ASB and student groups, and much more. In addition to ASB, Lauren’s senior year also includes soccer, advanced photography, PTSA, and more.
Looking ahead to after graduation and beginning in Fall 2022, Lauren is still considering whether or not she wants to attend a local college or an out-of-state university.
The district is incredibly pleased that Lauren has agreed to serve as the Student Board Member during her final year at Yorba Linda High and in PYLUSD. Congratulations, Mustang!
