Since 1969, the Reflections Program has encouraged more than 10 million students from throughout California and across the nation to create works of art.
The Reflections Program provides a venue for students to create and be recognized for original works of art based on a student inspired pre selected theme. It also serves to increase community awareness of the importance of arts in education. This year’s theme was, “I Will Change the World By…”
Artworks are submitted first to school-level PTAs, where they are first recognized, celebrated and judged by five grade-level divisions, while a non-judged Special Artists division celebrates student artists with special needs. School PTAs then choose a selection of entries to be judged by local PTA units, which are then sent on to councils and then districts for consideration.
Zeke won 1st Place in the Fourth District PTA, an organization of the twenty councils which represent all of Orange County PTA members as well as members in a small portion of Los Angeles County.
The final artworks submitted to California State PTA by districts are then considered for Outstanding Interpretation, Awards of Excellence or Awards of Merit. Outstanding Interpretation and Award of Excellence entries go on to represent California in the final National PTA judging round.
