El Camino Real students take field trip to printing museum

El Camino students

On May 3, El Camino Real High School students from Mr. Petersen’s Design for Digital Print and Mrs. Rotkosky’s Business Math classes traveled back in time to the International Printing Museum in Carson. Students discovered how printing has evolved over the centuries, witnessed lead type being formed, and actually operated a number of vintage printing machines and methods. Each student left with a number of printed samples, a better understanding of the printing process and what it took to get us to where we currently are, and an appreciation for what we have.
