Parkview kindergartener holds bake sale to help aid local hunger this holiday season

Parkview student with bake sale.

Max Lawrence, a kindergarten student at Parkview School, recently held a baked goods sale to collect money to purchase canned goods for those in need. He came up with the idea to put on a bake sale to allow family, friends, and neighbors to pay for yummy homemade baked treats with canned goods or cash to then purchase non-perishable items.

With his family’s help, he prepared chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and Rice Crispy treats. He advertised his goal with door-to-door fliers and encouraged potential customers to “pay” in canned food. The bake sale was highly successful and most importantly helped others in need. All of Max’s hard work will be donated to the Orange County Food Bank to help families in need this holiday season.

Great job helping the community, Max! You make Parkview and PYLUSD proud.
