In a heartwarming celebration of dedication and hard work, the teachers at Glenview Elementary School were treated to a delightful surprise during Teacher Appreciation Week. Principal Viridiana Fraga expressed her admiration for the teachers, emphasizing their unwavering commitment to putting students first.
“The teachers at Glenview are dedicated to putting kids first. To acknowledge all their hard work and dedication to the Glenview community, the teachers received a surprise SERENATA (serenade) on Teacher Appreciation Day,” Principal Fraga remarked.
The surprise took the form of a traditional mariachi serenade, a gesture deeply rooted in Mexican culture dating back to colonial times. Mariachi bands, renowned for their lively performances and colorful attire, are synonymous with celebrations and expressions of joy.
During the serenade, the teachers and students were treated to a musical journey filled with folktales and melodies that captivated the heart. From classroom to classroom, the joyous sounds of mariachi music echoed, filling the school with an atmosphere of appreciation and gratitude.
“A serenade is a tradition in Mexico that dates back to colonial times. During a serenade, a traditional mariachi arrives at the door or balcony of the recipient to show endearment and appreciation through musical folktales. The teachers and students gleamed as they experienced a live SERENATA from classroom to classroom. Glenview teachers are appreciated!” Principal Fraga added.
The heartfelt gesture, serving as a reminder of the profound impact teachers have on the lives of their students.
