At El Dorado High School, the Make-A-Wish committee, led by Diane Chang (President), Emma Kim (Vice President), Cami Lung (Secretary), Thomas Wu (Treasurer), and Reese Morio (Historian), along with the support of EDHS students, staff, and the Golden Hawk community, successfully raised $8,000 to grant another child’s wish. This impressive achievement surpassed their initial goal of $7,500.
This year, the committee had the pleasure of granting the wish of Alejandro, a 17-year-old from Anaheim who lives with epilepsy. Alejandro’s dream was to meet the Dallas Cowboys, and thanks to the dedication and hard work of the EDHS community, his wish was fulfilled. Alejandro and his family were able to attend a game, receive autographs, and, most importantly, meet his favorite players.
El Dorado High School is distinguished as the only school in Southern California to have raised over $35,000 in the past three years. This remarkable effort has enabled the granting of a total of four wishes, demonstrating the exceptional commitment and generosity of its students and community.
The success of the Make-A-Wish committee at EDHS is a testament to the power of collective effort and the impact of coming together to support a worthy cause. Way to go Hawks!
