On May 1, Valencia High School (VHS) held its annual AVID Senior Signing Day, an event that marked a significant milestone for the graduating Class of 2025. This celebration highlighted the accomplishments of 81 AVID Senior Scholars, each of whom has demonstrated exceptional dedication to academic excellence. Notably, every VHS AVID senior successfully applied to and received acceptance from at least one four-year university, reflecting their steadfast commitment to higher education and personal advancement.
Among these accomplished students, three individuals—Brenda Ruiz Martinez, Mayra Ruiz Martinez, and Bryan Figueroa—were recognized as recipients of the esteemed 2025 Dell Scholars Program, a prestigious national scholarship awarded to students who have overcome significant obstacles to pursue their educational goals.
A key component of this success is the AVID Senior Seminar course, which plays a crucial role in guiding students through the complexities of the college admissions process. This course offers comprehensive support, including assistance with financial aid applications such as the FAFSA and the California Dream Act, as well as guidance in securing scholarships. Through personalized instruction and mentorship, the AVID program empowers students with the knowledge and resources necessary to succeed in higher education settings.
Valencia High School’s AVID Senior Signing Day 2025 serves as a powerful demonstration of achievement and potential. The event underscores the transformative impact of education and the critical role of dedicated educators in shaping students’ futures. The accomplishments of these scholars are a source of pride for the VHS community and an inspiration to future generations.
