El Camino Real Students Explore Film Education at ScreamFest Youth Workshops

On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, thirty-five El Camino Real High School students participated in the ScreamFest Horror Film Festival Youth Program and Workshops at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Students previewed and provided feedback on unreleased films before attending a series of workshops covering topics such as screenwriting, makeup, storyboarding, acting, and camera work. Student Stephanie Cuellar, who joined the screenwriting session, expressed her excitement about writing her own sixty-second screenplay and learning the fundamentals of film production.

Teacher and counselor chaperones also attended a professional panel featuring representatives from Cal State LA’s School of Film and Media Studies, Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, the William Morris Agency, Netflix, and other major production companies.

The experience offered students valuable college and career insights into the film and entertainment industry, sparking creativity and inspiration for their future endeavors.
