Tuffree Middle School Students Demonstrate Historical Inquiry and Critical Thinking Through National History Day Projects

On February 26, students enrolled in Tuffree Middle School Honors Social Studies courses, along with participants from the school’s newly established Dual Language Academy, completed their 22nd annual National History Day research projects. The 2025–26 theme, “Revolution, Reaction, Reform,” commemorates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence.

Over the course of several months, students conducted extensive research on self-selected historical topics, applying critical analysis and historical inquiry skills. The project culminated in formal presentations shared with staff, families, and community members. Student research connected a wide range of topics—including the Space Race, the Pure Food and Drug Act, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs—to the annual theme, demonstrating thoughtful interpretation and interdisciplinary connections.
