Morse Elementary School teachers attended their second year of Equitable Science Curriculum for integrating Arts in Public Education (ESCAPE) Grant training. ESCAPE is a partnership between University of California, Irvine, Orange County Department of Education and the Segerstrom Center for the Arts to provide innovative training to teachers in grades 3 through 5. These teachers will teach the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) through a combination of inquiry-based science with arts-based techniques to increase student performance in earth, physical and life science knowledge. During the school year, artists co-teach three lessons in the teachers’ classrooms.
