On January 30, Morse Elementary School held its first ever AVID Career Night. Morse students and their families attended the event to hear from a variety of professionals sharing about their exciting occupations.
Individuals who presented about their careers included a 911 dispatcher, football coach, surgeon, nurse, mechanical engineer, financial adviser, director of marketing, account manager, Apple Creative, and electrical engineer. Morse students had the opportunity to learn about all of these unique career paths and the particular training and educational requirements necessary for each.
The night was truly a family event as many of the presenters are Morse parents. All in all, everyone in attendance was treated to an inspirational evening. Morse thanks the presenters who took the time to share their individual stories with the Wildcats!
AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a college readiness system that supports students in their quest to break educational barriers by enrolling in rigorous courses and experiences that will prepare them to be college and career ready.
