On June 6, 2019, 4th graders at Morse Elementary School participated in Pioneer Day. A total of 74 students were dressed for the occasion as pioneers or gold miners.
The students learned how to pan for gold, took part in activities in a one room schoolhouse, simulated the Pony Express, square danced, engaged in a covered wagon race, sang campfire songs, and so much more.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the help of many parent volunteers and 4th grade teachers, Mrs. Leiva and Ms. Parelli.
“Pioneer Day was a rootin’ tootin’ good time!” Mrs. Parelli said.
