Ruby Drive Cougars study the Ice Age and fossils at La Brea Tar Pits

Ruby Drive students at La Brea Tar Pits.

The second graders at Ruby Drive Elementary School have enjoyed learning about fossils through the Benchmark Advance curriculum.  What better field trip to take than La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles? The students learned about living creatures of the Ice Age and visited two excavation pits where fossils are still being discovered today. What an impacting experience to solidify what they have learned in the classroom!
