El Dorado High School’s (EDHS) Choral Music Program and Valadez Middle School Academy’s (VMSA) Folklórico Team were invited by Placentia Mayor, Rhonda Shader, to provide song and dance for the State of City Luncheon hosted at Alta Vista Country Club on September 25, 2019.
Sixteen singers from the EDHS Vocal Ensemble performed patriotic selections for the event. Lead by their coach, Alexandra Cabrera, the Valadez Folklorico team presented various native Mexican dances and music, which emphasizes Mexican folk culture with ballet style characteristics in a highly refined choreographed performance.
After their performances, Mayor Shader presented both programs with certificates of recognition and extended her gratitude for the students’ support.
“We were honored to be chosen by the Mayor for the State of the City and hope to continue partnering with our community by representing our school and district in song!” shared EDHS Director of Choral Music, Ryan Yoder.
Both programs dedicate long hours to practicing and proudly performing throughout the school district, city, and community.
You make PYLUSD proud, EDHS and VMSA!
