El Dorado High School’s E.D. Law Academy hosted its fall Peer Court session on October 9, 2019. Nearly 75 Golden Hawks volunteered their time to take part in this civic engagement program and were commended by the presiding judge and supervising attorneys for their excellent questions, serious and thoughtful deliberation, and fair recommendations as jurors.
Participating students commented, “It was interesting getting a real-life judicial experience,” “It really opened my eyes up to many things. I wish it would be more often!” and “It’s neat that I know now what it’s like to be a juror and I’m more ready for my first jury duty!”
The E.D. LAW Academy at El Dorado provides students with access to coursework and supplemental experiences that will augment their knowledge of the legal field and its various professional pursuits, expose them to legal reasoning and writing skills, and enhance their ability to achieve success in collegiate- and graduate-level academic coursework.
Way to go, Golden Hawks!
