Congratulations to the El Dorado High School Dance Team for earning top honors in several silver categories at the West Coast Elite (WCE) dance finals! The group’s large lyrical dance was awarded jackets and a banner for placing 1st, and the team also brought home three 2nd place trophies for their medium jazz, large jazz and large female hip hop groups.
Several team soloists also placed well. Emma Ramos, Veronica Hutchison, and Lanie D’Allura all placed in the top 15 for 10th grade silver solos, with Emma earning 2nd place overall. Elizabeth Louie placed in the top 10 for silver division senior solos. And, in the prestigious gold solo division, 12th grader Madelyn Gallagher was the first team dancer ever to place in the top 15.
Shan Lawson, dance team director commented, “It’s definitely not been the year we expected, but I am so incredibly proud of this team for persevering and giving it their all every day —from 6:45 am practices on the turf to every outdoor competition.” Awesome job, Golden Hawks!
