Valencia High School hosted their annual AVID Tailgate BBQ on Friday, October 8, 2021. The school’s AVID program invited students and families from Kraemer Middle School, Valadez Middle School Academy, and Ruby Drive Elementary School.
The evening included games such as corn hole, water balloon toss, a college photo wall, and face painting. Families and students enjoyed a complimentary BBQ prior to the school’s football game vs. Pacifica High School. Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Jim Elsasser could even be seen assisting with the BBQ efforts!
Valencia is proud to showcase the AVID program and further the connection between their school and their future Tigers.
AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a nationwide non-profit organization devoted to closing the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.
