Linda Vista Elementary School’s student council held a toy drive in December, right before the winter recess. The school community showed their holiday spirit donating several new toys and books to the Spark of Love Toy Drive. A company from the Orange County Fire Authority picked up the donations on Friday, Dec. 18, filling up an entire fire engine. The Linda Vista students were also treated to a demonstration of how firefighters prepare to go into a burning building, including a look at the equipment first responders need to protect them in the fire. The firefighters also helped Linda Vista celebrate the retirement of our beloved and wonderful secretary Cindy Gjersvold. Thank you firefighters, and good luck in the future Cindy!
