Team Roadrunners, a leadership group at Rose Drive Elementary School, worked hard the first couple weeks of February to support a local non-profit, The Orange County German Shepherd Rescue.
The group, made up of fifth-grade students, worked collaboratively to design a fun and unique candy gram to sell to students. The students created posters and a video for teachers to show in class to promote their venture. Team Roadrunners worked in small teams and sold the grams at recess so all students had an opportunity to support the local organization while showering friends and staff with sweet Valentine wishes.
Once the grams were sold, the students worked to assemble the grams with a sweet treat sorted by teachers and delivered to the classrooms just in time for students to enjoy. Team Roadrunners successfully raised $350 for the Orange County German Shepherds Rescue. Good job, Roadrunners!
