El Dorado High School 10th grade wrestler, Isaiah Quintero, recently represented Team California at the Virginia Beach High School Nationals and earned first place. In a field of 94 wrestlers, Isaiah competed in this weekend-long tournament and won 7 matches in a row and only gave up 1 point during the tournament.
All wrestlers invited had to be among the top 3 finishers in their state championship. Isaiah beat State Champions from New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, and New Mexico. (Isaiah actually wrestled up a weight class, from 108 to 116.) Way to go, Golden Hawk!
