Tynes Elementary School held its annual spelling bee competition on Thursday, Jan. 14, for fourth, fifth and sixth grade students. There were so many contestants, and everyone did a fabulous job.
For the fourth and fifth grade competition, third place went to Athena Pantoja, second place went to Maraia Mariselli and first place went to Ivy Nguyen.
For the sixth grade competition, third place went to Neha Abbas, second place went to Cadie Sparks and first place went to Hailey Chung!
These Tigers roared their way past some fierce competition by spelling VERY difficult words. The top three sixth grade winners will proceed to the county spelling bee. Thank you to all of the teachers for preparing the students and hosting the spelling bee!
PTA receives generous donation from Ralphs
This week, the Tynes Elementary School PTA received a $1,000 check from Ralphs grocery store. The check was presented by representatives from Ralphs at a Thursday, Jan. 21, board meeting. The funds will be used to purchase more technology for students. A big thank you to Ralphs for their generous support of our local schools!
