Valencia High School’s AVID seniors recently partnered with Kraemer Middle School’s AVID 8th grade classes for a team-building activity. The senior students shared a little about their journey from middle school to high school with the future VHS Tigers and then lead students through a collaborative activity.
Each team needed to build a tower of cups using string and one rubber band. This exercise required communication, leadership, collaboration, and determination. The students did an amazing job utilizing different tactics to stack the cups, using problem-solving skills when the tower fell, and cheering each other on until every cup was stacked.
AVID Senior, Jacob Loza, enjoyed working with his 8th-grade group and commented that “teamwork makes the dream work.”
