Van Buren Elementary School Sixth Graders Experience Outdoor Science School

The sixth-grade students at Van Buren Elementary School recently participated in a four-day program at the Outdoor Science School in Running Springs. Fortunate with perfect weather and a landscape still blanketed in snow from the previous weekend, the students engaged in an enriching and memorable educational experience.

Throughout their stay, the students embarked on multiple hikes, where they explored and learned about various aspects of geology, wildlife, and astronomy. In addition to these informative hikes, students collaborated to build shelters, fostering teamwork and practical problem-solving skills.

This immersive experience provided a unique opportunity for the students to deepen their understanding of natural sciences while enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. It was an unforgettable adventure that complemented their classroom learning and promoted a greater appreciation for the natural world.
