Last week, Brookhaven Elementary School sixth graders were transported back in time through their participation in the retelling of ancient civilizations. Students divided into three teams, Egypt, Greece and Rome, and prepared for the competition by memorizing character roles. Students dressed up in costumes, and earned points for their team by answering questions correctly. The project provided an “eyewitness” account, as students experienced events unfolding through their reenactments of ancient history.
